SALES APPRENTICE TRAINING PROGRAM
PROGRAM OVERVIEW: The Sales Apprentice is a paid, full-time apprenticeship role designed to develop future HVAC Sales Representatives through structured training, hands-on field exposure, and progressive sales responsibility. This program intentionally blends technical HVAC knowledge, operational understanding, and customer-focused sales development to prepare the apprentice for long-term success within Gault Energy & Home Solutions. Great opportunity for recent college graduates.
The apprenticeship runs approximately 2 years, with clearly defined tollgates, evaluations, and compensation progression, and culminates in manager-approved readiness for promotion to Sales Representative.
Under the guidance of the Sales Manager and senior sales representatives, the Sales Apprentice learns the fundamentals of residential HVAC sales, system design considerations, and customer consultation. The apprentice rotates through key operational teams—including installation crews, service operations, and parts—to fully understand how systems are sold, installed, supported, and serviced. This exposure ensures accurate proposals, strong cross-department collaboration, and an exceptional customer experience.
JOB SUMMARY:
Sales & Customer Development
Shadow senior sales representatives during in-home appointments.
Learn to conduct accurate site surveys, including photography and system assessments.
Assist in preparing HVAC proposals for fuel conversions, hydronic heating systems, and air conditioning installations.
Learn to identify customer needs and present appropriate HVAC solutions.
Observe and practice explaining project scope, timelines, and expectations to customers.
Participate in post-installation customer follow-ups to assess satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.
Gault-Specific Operational Training
Installation Team Exposure
Shadow installation teams to understand system layout, duct design, job sequencing, and site conditions.
Learn how sales decisions impact installation efficiency and customer outcomes.
Parts & Warehouse Exposure
Learn equipment staging, parts ordering processes, and inventory flow.
Understand lead times, availability constraints, and how they affect proposals and scheduling.
Service Department Exposure
Gain a foundational understanding of troubleshooting, service calls, and callbacks.
Learn how service insights inform better system recommendations and customer education.
Technology & Tools
Learn and utilize the company CRM, proposal software, and lead tracking systems
Maintain accurate documentation and internal communication
Develop working knowledge of Excel and Word as used in the sales process
