We’ve built a dedicated training program that fosters a culture of continuous learning and career development.

Our team is led by subject matter experts who not only excel in technical training but also in understanding how our entire workforce learns best.

We tailor our approach to support every learning style, whether through hands-on experience, visual instruction, or structured progression. Team members have access to the resources and mentorship they need to build confidence and advance in their careers.

Our focus goes beyond industry knowledge; it’s centered on education, growth, and empowering every team member to succeed.

  • Our apprenticeship program is a structured, hands-on training pathway designed to develop the next generation of skilled technicians. Through real-world experience, expert mentorship, and a step-by-step learning approach, apprentices gain the technical expertise and confidence needed to build a lasting career.

Through partnerships with Emmett O’Brien, AI Tech, Bristol Tech, Lincoln Tech, Porter and Chester, Platt Tech, Wright Tech, and Eli Whitney, we recruit top talent and provide a clear path to career growth. Apprentices receive bi-weekly check-ins, skills assessments, and 30-60-90-day reviews to track progress and ensure they meet key learning milestones.

A key feature of our program is the Apprentice Wheel, a structured rotation that exposes apprentices to different specialties and real-world applications within the trade. By working across various departments and job sites, apprentices gain a well-rounded foundation before specializing in their chosen field. This includes exposure to logistics, scheduling, team communication, and enhancing customer experience, giving apprentices a clear understanding of how their work fits into the bigger picture and directly supports our brand promise. Apprentices will advance from basic installations to more complex troubleshooting and service work. Training is deliberate and methodical, ensuring apprentices build confidence before moving on to the next skill.

As apprentices advance, we support them in obtaining licenses to help them take the next step in their careers:

    • HVAC: B, D, S

    • Gas: G

    • Electrical: E

Success in our program isn’t just about technical ability—it’s about readiness for a full-time career. By the time apprentices graduate, they have the experience, knowledge, and support system to transition seamlessly into a licensed, skilled role within the industry.

  • Training goes beyond technical skills—it’s about mastering your craft, communicating effectively, and becoming a strong leader. Gault University offers a wide range of internal training programs, including but not limited to:

    Technical Training

    • Hands-on courses in low-voltage wiring, HVAC troubleshooting, steam systems, and generator installation.

    • 1-on-1 test prep and skills assessments to support licensing and certification success.

    • Live demos and workshops focused on real-world problem-solving.

    Customer-Focused Training

    • Conversational Capacity Training teaches team members how to stay balanced and engaged in customer interactions, even in tough conversations, with a clear basis in our brand and functional drivers.

    • Customer Service Communication Workshops help technicians build trust, explain technical issues clearly, and reinforce Gault’s commitment to service.

    Leadership Development

    • SMART Goals Training ensures leaders set clear, measurable, and effective goals for their teams.

    • Bringing in industry subject matter experts to lead training sessions and provide hands-on support, ensuring every team member has access to the latest knowledge, tools, and practices.

    • Interpersonal Styles Training helps leaders understand their own leadership style and adapt to different personalities for stronger collaboration.

    • Situational Leadership Training teaches how to adjust leadership approaches based on team members’ experience and confidence.

  • Staying at the forefront of industry advancements is key to our team’s success. Gault University partners with top vendors and training institutions to provide hands-on certifications and expert-led workshops, ensuring our team members stay up to date with the latest technology, safety protocols, and best practices.

Our external partners include Generac, Star Supply, Torrco, EK, ENTECH, Carrier, Carlin, and many more. These collaborations ensure our team is continuously learning, evolving, and ready to lead in a fast-changing industry.

Training and Development

  • “My favorite part was meeting the people at Gault and even the customers. Since I started the program I have learned a lot that my technical school didn’t teach. Gault has all great people and I learned a lot from being around everyone.”

    — Apprentice from Derby

  • “My favorite part was learning new things while working on HVAC systems. Thanks to this program, I am now proficient in performing tune-ups. Just two months ago, I wouldn’t have been able to do it. Everyone at Gault was welcoming and willing to teach; It’s a great company to work for and I am excited about my future here!”

    - Apprentice from Bridgeport

  • “My favorite part was the bi-weekly rotation for who I would ride along with. The good part about that was being able to learn different techniques and then figure out which one worked best for me. The most memorable skill I learned was how to troubleshoot and communicate with customers. It is easy to want to get up for work in the morning because of Gault’s work environment – everyone in the company makes it fun!”

    - Apprentice from Beacon Falls

  • “My favorite part was riding along with techs and being able to learn new things in the field with them. I learned how to change capacitors, do oil tune-ups, AC tune-ups, and many other things in this program. I liked how everyone at Gault was embracive of one another.”
