JOB SUMMARY
Repairing fleet trucks and equipment. Conducting inspections and preventative maintenance requirements. Correcting vehicle deficiencies and making adjustments. Keeping up-to-date records for work orders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide customer service in the sale of the proper products
Schedule vehicles for service and repair, ensuring efficient appointment management.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and tires.
Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to assess vehicle conditions and identify worn or damaged parts.
Complete preventative maintenance schedules and install component upgrades to enhance vehicle performance.
Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as power drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brakes, tires, steering, hydraulics, or clutches.
Perform test drives to verify vehicle performance and address driver complaints effectively.
Maintain accurate records of service and repairs performed.
Weld and fabricate components as needed for repairs.
Order parts necessary for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks and fill out inspection sheets.
Submit bi-weekly mileage reports to track vehicle usage.
Maintain the cleanliness and operational functionality of the workshop and equipment.
Troubleshot breakdowns using dial gauges and diagnostic computer equipment.
Participate in educational opportunities to stay updated on job knowledge.
Enter completed jobs into files and computer programs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
No specific education or prior experience required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, twisting, lifting, and pulling of parts and equipment. Must have the ability to lift and/or move items up to 150 pounds. The position requires employees to regularly talk and hear.

Location: Fairfield County
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
90% mechanics garage and 10% field work. Working inside and outside the mechanics garage and in the field on a variety of vehicles and equipment. Climbing in and out of vehicles and lying on a hard and cold concrete floor or ground to do repairs. Driving a variety of vehicles as needed. Working with and exposed to chemicals and hazardous materials daily.
