Procurement & Inventory Control Manager

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of Inventory and Purchasing or Procurement experience

  • 2-3 years’ experience as a purchasing manager or agent.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration preferred.

  • Experience using procurement software and databases.

  • Leadership and Supervisory experience.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work from a stationary position, sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, crouch, kneel, balance, or climb. The employee must be able to lift and move objects up to twenty-five pounds. The employee is regularly required to talk or listen.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing accurate reporting of inventory as well as maintaining and tracking purchases in Company locations. Control inventory effectively with the goal of reducing average investment in inventory (DSI) and increasing gross profit margins.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop processes and procedures to optimize inventory control for all Mason Operations

  • Sourcing, Negotiation, Contract Management and Supplier Management

  • Ensure product levels are adequate to satisfy demand from customers by seeking input from the Sales Team

  • Timely and accurate entry of daily purchase orders and follow-up of outstanding purchase orders for all three locations.

  • Timely and accurate PO receiving entry with proper control of landed costs, unit costs and quantities received for all three locations.

  • Responsible for the planning, execution, reconciliation, and reporting of the yearly physical inventory for all three locations and assisting with assembling a team, being onsite, and overseeing the process.

  • Create a rotating schedule to complete full inventories for all three locations a minimum of once per year.

  • Create a rotating schedule to complete routine cycle counts of inventory for each location and pick the item to spot-check.

  • Attend Industry Events and Relevant Conferences to support the organization.

  • Create, distribute, and track special order product information.

  • Support Sales and Operations with Bids, Requests for Quotes (RFQ’s)

  • Timely and accurate inventory item return processing for all three locations

  • Item damage processing to correct GL account for all three locations

  • Update all customer promotion requests.

  • Item transfer processing for all three locations.

  • Process all cutting log adjustments.

  • Miscellaneous duties as required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

90% office and 10% field review. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This role also requires walking around the stone yards and warehouse for inventory review. This position requires some driving to and from other office locations for meetings and inventory review.
