Generator Service Technician & Installer

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Current technical certification from major generator manufactures

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Forklift certification

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, twisting, lifting, and pulling of parts and equipment.  Must have the ability to lift and/or move items up to 85 pounds. The position requires team members to regularly talk and hear.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the installation, diagnosis, and service of generators.  Filling out work orders, submitting warranty claims, and talking to technical support on issues.  Informing customers of work performed, any issues, submitting quotes, and taking payments.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Service and install auto standby residential & light commercial generators

  • Perform certified start-ups and registration of Generac & Kohler generators

  • Submit warranty paperwork

  • Familiar with electrical circuitry and control wiring

  • Understand all state and national codes

  • Maintain vehicle warehouse inventory and keep organized

  • Rotating on-call schedule for weekends, evenings, and holidays

  • Available during high-demand times and able to work additional hours

  • Miscellaneous duties as required

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

100% field work.  Working inside climbing up and down stairs to basements, attics, crawl spaces, and other tight and confined spaces.  Working outside in all weather conditions. Climbing and working from ladders. Driving a service vehicle to calls and going back and forth to get tools and materials in and out of truck. Working with and exposed to hazardous materials daily.
